One of the neglected parts of social history of Iran is the history of women, that is unclear to some extent because of the lack of enough recorded reports in sources. Therefore, it seems that with a new approach to different sources such as fiction literature, we can fill a part of this vacuum. "Safine Fetrat" is one of such works; a collection of stories, facetiae, jokes and satires have been gathered in this book by an Iranian author in late 11th century in India. A total view of women from different classes of society is given in this book.
By analyzing this book, it is tried to show author's approach to the status of women in Safavid period. Especially, the author's viewpoint is very realistic about women unlike the current traditions of society.
According to the evidence, it can be argued that the reason for different opinions of author is his immigration to India and his long stay in this country which resulted in tolerance in his viewpoint and words.
