Abstract

There are many examples in the field of Islamic Revolution studies that the authors have used a theological approach in analyzing human events and phenomena And they have tried to make the Islamic revolution look holy. The question of what is the position of the knowledge of history apart from theological foundations among historians and academic researchers and whether history has been able to achieve a position independent of theology among academics is the issue of the present article. In this article, examples of the works of academics in the field of historiography of the Islamic Revolution of Iran have been examined, each of them has used theological teachings in some way in the analysis of events related to the occurrence of the Islamic Revolution. By critically examining these works, it can be seen that the adoption of this approach is not limited to religious thinkers and researchers. For many researchers who studied the events of the Islamic Revolution in the academic environment, the historical approach is not the basis and there is not much adherence to the principles and criteria of historical methodology. Therefore, it can be said that there is still no scientific approach to the knowledge of history among many academics and technicians.
