Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the new human phenomena that is being talked about for various reasons today, and the speed of its expansion has been such that it has created questions and concerns among the general public and researchers in various fields of knowledge. In the first place, this essay intends to briefly introduce the nature of artificial intelligence and its history, then using an analytical approach examines AI advantages and disadvantages in relation to the field of history and historiography. The author has tried to determine and define the advantages of working with artificial intelligence in the field of historiography, based on reliable sources and experiences of interacting with different artificial intelligence machines. Also, he has paid attention to the concerns of historians and explored the shortcomings and challenges of artificial intelligence in this field and made suggestions to reduce its negative effects. The author believes that with the rapid spread of artificial intelligence, there is no choice but to use it and dream about it for historians, and with some preparations, it can be used for the richer benefit of historiography. In the end, the conclusion is that artificial intelligence cannot be considered a threat and substitute for human historiography until further notice, because the truth is only understood and recognized by humans.
