Zand era include important events related to the presence and incidence of mysticism and Sufism in Iran society. After the collapse of Nadir shah and widespread struggle over power among the pretenders, the widespread chaos was all over the country. Although this situation had a ruinous impact on the politic, society and economy, but its effect on the mysticism and Sufism is very noticeable. Sufis as well as other claimants tried to regain their lost power and Gnostics even experience a new period of his life. Both the main dynasty of Zahabiyeh and Nematollahiyeh had good growth and spread during this time. In particular, immigration of masuom ali shah Dakani from India to Esfahan and Shiraz cause a great power for Nematollahiyeh dynasty. But this warm welcome and tendency of people to Sufism caused great fear for the religion man and the government and forced them to deal with the new claimant. Unlike the Nematollahiyeh dynasty the communications of Elite of Zahabiyeh Shi'a Jurists and their special regard to the religion cause much less opposition from jurists.
This article studies the presence of these two sects of Sofia in history after the fall of the Safavids , how political sovereignty dealed with this sects, review of their activities in Zand era, and finally study of mystical attitude of scholars, philosophers and canonists of this period.
