Abstract
The main issue of this research is the rationale approaches of the Mehdigholi Hedayat's historiography. Therefore, his historiography was reviewed by using the analytical – explanation method. Author has focused on the explanation of the progressive movement, and its results. The main hypothesis is that the Mehdigholi Hedayat has used the rational explanation in his historiography. Data collection of this paper is based on a library using methods. The main results indicate that the Mehdigholi Hedayat's historiography is an example of passing . He criticized the progressive movement of his time based on three pillars: rationality, justice, and religious belief. Brief reviews and criticism are two main aspects of his historiography. A variety of rational explanation can be seen on his historiography. He mapped a national model for Iranians progressive. In this model, social crises of modernism is controlled and Western hegemony is confronted. According to the Mehdigholi Hedayat the Westerners countries are trying to promote their own cultural patterns, and that pillaged the material and spiritual resources of the East countries. The main benefit of this study is that raises the history as applications science and an important knowledge in the issues related to development.
