The tradition of historiography in Iran from culture and civilization perspective has been among the interest of some scholars who like to either work on or make some issues on the theoretical basis. Regarding all the alteration and changes in traditional historiography, some researches argue that the tradition has been a constant flow right from the beginning of Iran’s ancient dynasties. In this trend, they believe that, there has been a reproducing- the- past tendency, which begins from the event then follows with narration and ultimately ends with compilation in each era. However, some researchers with the interest of cyclical interpretation of history seemingly are keen to make distinction between the eras (The Ancient Iran, The Islamic era of Iran to the Constitutional Revolution, post- constitutional era.) They go even further to refute the Ancient Iran’s traditional historiography. Introducing some critical views, this article consequently would put forward a common view on this subject.
